Student-led-Initiatives

Student leadership is essential for the development of a well-rounded and vibrant school community.

Our Student-Led Initiatives empower students to take an active role in shaping their school experience and develop the leadership skills they will need to succeed in college, careers, and life.

Some of the key positions in our Student Led Initiative include:

Head Boy and Head Girl

The Head Boy and Head Girl are the senior student leaders of the school. They are responsible for representing the student body at school events and meetings, mentoring younger students, and setting an example for the school community through their behaviour, academics, and extracurricular activities.

Deputy Head Boy & Deputy Head Girl

The Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl assist the Head Boy and Head Girl in their duties and responsibilities.

House Captains, Vice Captains, Cultural Secretaries, Sports Captains, Discipline In-charges, and Prefects

These students play a vital role in maintaining discipline, assisting with school events and activities, and promoting student welfare.

Our Student-Led Initiative is based on the following principles: Empowerment: We believe that students should have the opportunity to take ownership of their education and play an active role in shaping their school experience.

Development: We believe that student leadership is an essential part of student development. It helps students develop their leadership skills, communication skills, teamwork skills, and problem-solving skills.

Representation: We believe that students should have a voice in the school community and that their voices should be heard. A platform for student leadership provides students with a platform to represent the student body and advocate for their interests.

Student Leadership:

Students develop their leadership skills through these initiatives. This includes learning how to delegate tasks, motivate others, and build consensus.

Personality Development:

Students develop their skills through the Student-led initiatives. This includes learning how to communicate effectively, work as part of a team, and solve problems.

School Culture:

These initiatives contribute to creating a positive and inclusive school culture. Students feel more connected to their school when they have a voice in its decision-making and when they can make a difference in their community.

We invite all students at New Heights School to get involved in the Student Led Initiatives. It is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, make a difference in the school community, and prepare for future success.
